Did you run Halloween-specific ad creative this October? 

No? Did you forget? That holiday creatives ALWAYS CRUSH. More than you’d ever expect? I know, I know, easy to bring this up now, on October 30th. 

I’m rubbing your nose in it not because I’m mean, but because I want you to have a bank of Halloween creative inspo for next October.

I want you to launch really intentional, really spooky, really “off-brand” Halloween ads, next year, on October 1st. BTW, Halloween is kinda cringe to me and it was really hard to convince my brands to participate. But, maybe I am a little mean – because we broke them down, told them their brand would survive, and got to run ads that lean into the time of year we’re in – it’s Halloween to your customers unless you just pretend it’s evergreen and in which case you do, you’re boring and vanilla. 

The same way that Christmas starts on November 1st in advertising, the same applies to October as reserved for Halloween. 

So, NEXT YEAR, SWIPE THESE. For now, I’ll let you know that some of these creative are mine (my team’s) and that performance was WICKED AWESOME. Sure, the creatives here are all smart. But, the TIMING here is exceptional. Lean into the holiday (whatever the holiday is), and your customers will reward you. Time and time again.

Okay so this 1 isn’t exactly Halloween but it’s orange and I do think if you have any SKUs that are orange, or black, or ideally orange and black, feature them…

This 1 is orange and shows itself against Halloween candy. Could work year-round but it was launched in October and I think that’s smart. 

I actually find this Warby Parker ad to be a bit ugly (personal opinion). But, I like the pumpkin motif and this would just be so easy to create. Ugly doesn’t matter (it’s not actually ugly but I think the pumpkins aren’t my shade preference. No matter, I plan to copy it and do lo-fi pumpkin UGC all next October. With better pumpkins, I hope.)

Notice the treat language. Intentional or not, very Halloween. 

I am partial to candy corn. 

And lastly, they don’t run it anymore, but this is my favorite Halloween creative ever, Liquid I.V. circa many years ago (forever in my personal swipe file as tier 1 perfect).
