Not every website should be torn down. That’s the tip.
I’m evaluating a website right now that converts at 5%. Would it be fun to take it to the studs and to turn it into an entirely new world? Yes, of course – my favorite!!
Is that what’s best for that business? No, I don’t think so. Instead, I think it makes sense to systematically, module by module, page by page, experiment into changes that will ensure GROWTH. Everything can be made better, and it will be made better. Rather spend 4 months testing and ROLLING OUT CHANGES, than 4 months in wireframes and design.
