ON THIS EPISODE OF GO-TO-MILLIONS

I was organizing my ad creative swipe file this morning and I realized something.

An epiphany.

ALMOST NOBODY IS RUNNING MOODY ADS RIGHT NOW. DARK. VAMPY. BLACK AND WHITE. When we talk about creative depth and running ads of all types all at once, did we all forget to play with color vs. the absence of color?

It’s scaring me that we’ve forgotten! So many ads I came across this week are bright and light. I like that, I do. Only though when tested against (and alongside) dark and mysterious. Only when tested against plain and simple.

We need it all. Please see this as your sign to create darker ads this week. LAY OFF OF THE PASTEL. You have enough of those running. I can confirm.

SPORTY & RICH. Best headline of the week. It stands out because there’s no background and therefore no distraction.ย

Nike. VAMPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. I think I’ll buy for Daniel.ย

STAUD. Pastel sure does stand out when not paired with pastel.

Simon Pearce. The copy says brighten your space. The product does just that because it has the opportunity to. MOODY.ย

The Row. Because it’s not Go-to-Millions without at least 1 mention now is it??? GLITCHY MOODY BLACK AND WHITE!!

Makeup By Mario. Inspired by NYC and feels like NYC.ย

Overall, it doesnโ€™t matter what your brand colors are or what your brand book calls for.ย

Black and White are required for testing. Full stop.ย

GO-TO-MEME

Back to bone broth. I’m new to the subject but here are the brands I’ve tried so far (In the order I’ve tried them) and why I bought.

Brodo was 1st in my journey. I got served ad after ad and the founder seemed to care about taste. I bought the Variety Pack, because I was scared I’d pick 1 that wasn’t the most delicious and I’m worried about missing out. The good news is I liked the Organic Chicken Bone Broth the best. The bad news is that was 2/30 of what came in my box. I learned here that I’m done tasting the rainbow with bone broth. Chicken only for me.

Kettle & Fire was next. I bought 2 when I was at Whole Foods. It was the Chicken bone broth, as my lesson was already learned. Taste-wise compared to Brodo this doesn’t win for me but it was convenient and has a ton of protein in each box.

Epic is right now. I like that it’s in a glass jar. At Whole Foods these were over $8 each (horrid), but now that I’ve tried 2/4 I bought there, I see online it’s more like $6+ each. I’d rather have a croissant for that $ but okay. I bought 2 different chicken varieties – Homestyle and Tuscan. So far I’ve had 2 of the Homestyle. It’s nice. I’m happy when I get to the bottom of the mug, though.

I’m not done searching. My sister (Miss Bone Broth) recommends these other 2 (Epic was at her suggestion). I’ll try these others and let you know.

If you have any bone broth thoughts, please share. And, if you know of any that taste like Top Ramen, PLEASE SOUND THE ALARM.

^ “I’d start with chicken”. She said that because she knows about the Brodo variety box situation.ย
