I wrote a thread on Twitter over the weekend and it was on luxury brands that are so luxury they become Unshoppable

This was my favorite reply:Β

^ SO TRUE. LE SIGH.

But shall we study the good ones? There’s a particular thing I love about each of the websites listed below. These are luxury websites. Not ultra-luxury, but they sell expensive things, that’s for sure.

And, most luxury websites suck. The ones that don’t are very important to pay very close attention to.Β

LUXURY WEBSITES I LIKE

πŸ’Ž ALAÏA’s collections page shows crystal-clear product photography with a video asset that sets the tone (from the runway). I wish brands like Anine Bing and Djerf Avenue would steal this video placement on the collections level.

🏁 LAND ROVER USA’s split-screen hero (split into thirds!!) I appreciate the clarity. I think the hover-state movement depending on which third you’re on is really, really special and applies even if not a car brand. πŸ™‚

🍭 LORO PIANA’s digital gift card. Okay, okay, hear me out. This isn’t “optimized” per se but it is clear and you can write a gift note and choose the date of delivery. That is more than many, many digital gift card experiences. And for that, I am proud of them. If your gift card experience isn’t covering these elements – scheduling – note – choose whatever amount… please work on this. I also like that they lead to it from the promobar – that’s a nice touch.Β

🐚 ANGELA CAGLIA’s genius PDP buy box – this is the subscription strategy I love the most. Rewards longevity and loyalty. Bravo!

πŸ’˜ CREED’s homepage hero video. I’ll fall asleep thinking about it.

πŸ’Ž JACQUES MARIE MAGE the entire site. So important. So different. When will I shut up about this brand??? NOT TODAY!Β
