I wrote a thread on Twitter over the weekend and it was on luxury brands that are so luxury they become Unshoppable.
This was my favorite reply:Β
^ SO TRUE. LE SIGH.
But shall we study the good ones? There’s a particular thing I love about each of the websites listed below. These are luxury websites. Not ultra-luxury, but they sell expensive things, that’s for sure.
And, most luxury websites suck. The ones that don’t are very important to pay very close attention to.

π¨οΈ: GOYARD, particularly thehero homepage video and the personalization simulator.Β Sure, I can’t buy this (or anything from the brand) online as new, but I can save it as a PDF and bring it with me as I wait in line to access a boutique 1 day in the future.Β
πΈ: KHAITE. Let’s discuss. I don’t claim to have bought my Danielle Jeans in the right size (I sized up 1 size and yet I still can’t breathe). However, this denim collections page punches so far above its luxury site design weight class. The information cards that break up the product cards are incredibly helpful. Once you get to the PDP (like the Danielle Jeans PDP I linked above) the variant selector and details shown are, once again, incredibly helpful. I love this site. I shop it too much and really should lay off FML.Β

πΉ: JACUES MARIE MAGE’s site pulls so many tricks. These are 4-figure sunglasses, so tricks are the least they can do (I want these, specifically). It’s my favorite site of all the sites I’m showing you today. It is important to me. Scroll all the way to the bottom, ’til you get to the ‘Let’s take a view from the top’ section on desktop, please.
π: HERMES’Β buffer state of a little horsey is so on brand and dare I say, delightful. I’ve never enjoyed waiting for a page to load more in my entire life. I coulda sat here for longer. This is one of those things that feels expensive, but is actually a quick dev and design project.Β THE DETAILS!
π§‘: RIMOWA’s personalization simulator is better than Goyard’s (the 1 I like above). I like that. I love this. Both should be references. There is no better personalization engine on the luxury website design market. And, it can be bought online.
P.S. I just was on TikTok, minding my business, and I heard an influencer talk about her Rimowa suitcase. She said the name Rimowa wrong – or so I thought. So I googled. I HAVE BEEN SAYING RIMOWA WRONG FOR MY ENTIRE OBSESSION. It’s spelled with a W but it’s said with a V. I just didn’t see that happening to me. Ri-mo-va!
πͺΌ: MCLAREN’s site really smack’s Red Bull Racing’s. Red Bull, call me. McLaren’s website is the best out of all of the F1 teams’ websites. My husband is a McLaren fan but even if he weren’t, this is P1. Box box!!!
π¦: CREED’s website isn’t perfect, but this module is:Β
